Today, Nov. 18, I am thankful for opportunity. I have been blessed with a supportive and loving family, intelligence and an education, and living in the United States, where we are free to pursue life, liberty and happiness.
A little more than a month ago, I decided to quit working full time. I had no real plan for my career other than knowing I wanted to spend more time with my son. The schedule our family maintained was not sustainable.
I’m very blessed that I’ve found several opportunities to work as a contractor or freelancer that allow me to make my own hours more or less and work remotely. I will be able to contribute financially to our family’s well being without sacrificing my role as mom and wife.
I will begin working as a marketing campaign manager for Visionary Brand Management in the next couple weeks. I’m also doing some freelance writing for several websites/blogs, in addition to my own writing here.
I know it is very difficult for many women to find this type of balance and opportunity. So I am extremely grateful that these opportunities exist and that God blessed me with the skills to pursue them.
Will you join me in taking the #30DaysofThanks challenge? Each day from Nov. 1-30, write or share something for which you’re thankful with the hash tag #30DaysofThanks.
