Today, Nov. 23, I am thankful for memories. Since I got pregnant and had my son, my memory is not what it used to be. Most other moms I know call this “mom brain.” It results from being overly exhausted and having 8,541 things to remember all the time.
I find that these days I struggle to find the word I’m seeking, and I even tend to be a bit dyslexic now. But, I am still grateful for memories. Remembering things like beach vacations with my family, or lessons I learned from my grandparents, or funny stories between friends.
All the things that happen to us throughout our lives – good and bad – make us who we are, and I am so grateful for the memories I have and the memories others have to share with me.
My mom recently uncovered a bunch of old video and films, and my sister had them transferred to DVDs and digital movies. Some were really touching to see. Images of my late grandparents or old pets or us many years ago.
I am so grateful for everything in my life; yes, even the bad. I am who I am today because of all that, and because of all those people and memories.
So today, I am grateful for memories.
Will you join me in taking the #30DaysofThanks challenge? Each day from Nov. 1-30, write or share something for which you’re thankful with the hash tag #30DaysofThanks.
